In memoriam (Nov. 2018)

Howard Bissonnette passed away Aug. 29. His career began as a professor and Extension plant pathologist at North Dakota State and he completed his 35-year career at the University of Minnesota. He contributed to research and education in applied field disease diagnosis, aerial spray application, crop storage and pathology for potatoes, wheat and sugar beets.

John A. Molstad was a graphic designer and media artist in Extension from 1983-1999 and worked on major Extension publications including the gardening calendar, numerous brochures and website design. After he retired from the University, he continued to contract with Extension on the gardening calendar and publications. He passed away in St. Paul on Aug. 6, at age 70.

Howard Person, Extension educator for Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, worked in Pennington, Polk and Marshall counties for 37 years. He passed away on Oct. 1 in Thief River Falls at age 63. His impact and leadership included programs in crops and livestock, farm business management, youth development, and Master Gardeners.

Kenneth R. Rose, 87, passed away Oct. 3. He received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota. After serving in the U.S. Navy and completing graduate work at the University of Minnesota and Colorado State University, Ken and his family moved to Fergus Falls, where he was the West Ottertail County Extension director until his retirement in 1989.
