In Memoriam (March 2022)

Bill Craig, former Extension regional ag educator in ag business management in the northwest region, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 4. Bill had been a member of the Crookston Regional Office team until 2014 and later worked as an Ag Services Director in Marshall and Pennington counties before retiring in October 2020.

Jeanette Hauschild passed away on Dec. 9. She received her bachelor's degree in home economics education from the University of Minnesota and received her master's degree from South Dakota State University. Jeanette served as the Extension home agent for Lincoln County for many years and was a life member of Epsilon Sigma Phi. Earlier in her career, she served as a 4-H agent for Lincoln County.

Marian Anderson passed away on Feb. 4. Marian graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in home economics in 1968 and from the University of Minnesota with a masters of education degree in home economics education. For a total of 33 years, Marian worked for Extension in both Big Stone and Rice counties. Marian was a life member of ESP, was active with the Extension home economist retiree group and was a former trustee of the Minnesota 4-H Foundation.

Byron Kunkel passed away on March 5, in Osage City, Kansas at the age of 96. Byron’s working career was as an Extension county agent for Blue Earth County, where he worked with 4-H’ers and assisted farmers. He retired in 1983. Byron was also a life member of ESP.
